the best bedding.

“i love being in bed. i don’t understand how people don’t get into bed and immediately feel happier. sometimes i get into bed and that is my activity, just being in bed, because that’s how happy it makes me. i just lay there and think about how i’m in my bed and i’m happy about it”.

Okay, that’s a bit dramatic but also…it’s not for how true it feels of me. I saw this quote years ago circulating instagram stories and i’ve never forgotten it just because of how hard I laughed at the correlation to how I feel about getting into my bed. I know a luxurious bed is just that, a luxury. I also know that we spend 1/3 of our lives sleeping and that sleep is the most important for our body’s restoration and healing. So with that, we prioritize beds over a lot of other things in life and that very much so includes our bedding.

Years ago, during a trip to Turks and Caicos we found a bedding store called Cariloha. I immediately fell in love with how soft everything was because it was made from sustainable, natural materials like bamboo, linen and cotton. We didn’t purchase anything immediately for the sake of not having to pack it into our suitcases headed home later that week, but my in-laws gifted us our first set of resort sheets a few months later and we’ve never purchased bedding from anywhere else since. We’ve actually expanded our products from them to include —additional sheet sets for every bed, their resort mattress, a couple retreat charcoal pillows and most recently their bamboo/linen duvet.

I have tried so many different types of bedding, because if you’ve followed me for any amount of time on social media, you know how much I love bed, and so far we have yet to find anything that compares to cariloha. my goal with every bed in our home is for it to be the fluffiest, softest, comfiest bed that gives you the best night of rest you’ve ever had. thanks to cariloha, our goals are getting accomplished.

Here are some additional reasons we love them, aside from just being incredibly soft:

  • they use bamboo as the main component to their products because it is renewable and sustainable

  • bamboo is twice as soft as cotton

  • bamboo is three degrees cooler than other fabrics

  • bamboo can consume 45% more carbon dioxide and produce 35% more oxygen making it cleaner for the air

  • bamboo naturally regenerates saving more trees and therefore our earth

  • zero pesticides are used on the cariloha bamboo farm in china making it organically grown

  • you can visit their farm showing they have nothing to hide

  • they are a certified b corp, fair trade, partnered with the sustainable forestry initiative, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, certified-pur us certified, and use forest certified council materials in their products.

HAVE WE MENTIONED YET HOW MUCH WE LOVE THEM?!
